Bottom contours on longboards are shaped in by hand to enhance the rider’s ability to transition from rail to rail, or softened to make a smooth walk to the nose. These may be concave or spoon, panel vee, roll, double concave, and flat.
Hand tuned rails give a longboard its personality. When I take a custom order I take the client’s personality and translate it into the rails. Soft, sharp, full or thin, crisp, boxy, aggressive, mellow, forgiving and tight.
